This certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate in Spanish at an intermediate level. 

The pathway below represents an efficient and effective course taking sequence for this program. Individual circumstances might require some changes to this pathway. It is always recommended that you meet with an academic counselor to develop a personalized educational plan.

Demonstrate language proficiency in Spanish at an intermediate level; demonstrate appropriate knowledge of some cultural differences between English speakers and Spanish speakers in regard to social interactions, beliefs, and values; demonstrate knowledge of some of the major events that have affected relationships between the United States and Spanish-speaking nations; recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino luminaries to literature, art, music, politics, and science; demonstrate knowledge of the contributions to the Spanish language from Arabic and from indigenous languages of America.
